Amidst the challenges that often overshadow the potential of individuals, The Gorge Restaurant and Matson Hospitality Group (MHG) as a whole is actively championing inclusivity by partnering with CVGT Employment.

Together, we're breaking down barriers and fostering meaningful employment opportunities for people like Ebony. Ebony, who lives with autism and schizophrenia, had never experienced the fulfillment of a paid job until she connected with CVGT Employment.

In October 2022, with the help of the local CVGT employment team we welcomed Ebony into The Gorge Restaurant with open arms. Adrian and our compassionate team members have provided unwavering support to Ebony, ensuring her success every step of the way.

We strongly value diversity in our workforce and are committed to working alongside CVGT Employment's Disability Employment Services team in Tasmania. By actively promoting inclusivity, we encourage other employers to recognise the immense benefits of having a diverse workforce.

Ebony's inspiring journey is a testament to the transformative power of inclusion. See the full story via the video below.

Vinnies CEO Sleep Out
22nd June 2023.

Our Director Miguel Martinez has nominated himself for the Vinnies CEO Sleep Out this year to shed light on homelessness in Australia.

A word from Miguel: “Thousands of people experience it every night and there are ways to alleviate this situation. One such way is through the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which I am proud to participate in this year. The primary objective of this event is to gather funds for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support those in need across Australia. As a part of this initiative, I will spend a night sleeping outside, which will provide me with a deeper understanding of the hardships faced by homeless individuals and raise awareness about this issue.

Assistance from individuals like you is crucial in putting an end to the vicious cycle of homelessness. Would you be willing to support me in reaching my fundraising goal of $1000?”

We were proud partners of the annual Black Diamond fundraiser to celebrate 85 years of St.Giles supporting Tasmanians.

The long table fine dining experience was held within the nave of one of Australia’s most significant churches – St. John’s Anglican Church, with guests enjoying a gourmet 3-course dinner created by us alongside fine Tasmanian beverages. Our team had a fabulous night showcasing our food and hospitality at what is always a very important event for our community.
